INSTALLATION SUMMARY
Northern NextStep ™ is milled with unrivaled precision for easy, problem-free installation in virtually 

any room, above or below ground. Faster to install than a conventional hardwood floor, it also offers 

greater stability under humid conditions. Designed to be glued down, this highly adaptable flooring can

 be nailed or stapled to a variety of surfaces.

Fusion Engineered Flooring yourself, more quickly and easily than other wood flooring product.


And since the use of this product does not entail adjustments to doors, frames, or moldings, it is ideal

for renovation projects.

The installer/owner of this Northern NextStep ™ floor is responsible for final inspection as to grade, 

manufacture, and factory finish. Reasonable selectivity must be used, and pieces with glaring defects, 

whatever the cause, should be held out or cut off. Five percent waste must be added to actual square 

footage needed as an allowance for cutting and grading. If an individual piece is found to be doubtful 

as to grade, manufacture or factory finish, the installer should not use the piece. If he does, Lauzon’s 

liability is limited to replacing defective material in excess of 5% only. The installer of this flooring must 

follow these instructions. If proper installation procedures are not followed, any Guarantees that may 

cover this product, may be jeopardized.

GUIDE



For nail-down installation (Fig. 1), Lauzon recommends a Primatech 500 nailer with the gray 

base and two white shims with 1-1/2" #500 cleats. 

In addition, a Stanley-Bostich S3297-LHF "Floor Runner" with 1" staples can be used to attach 

Northern NextStep™ to the subfloor. 
The use of proper nailers or staplers, as well as staples and cleats (base and shims where appropriate).

 Improper fasteners and machines can cause severe damage and surface dimples. 

Improper trowel size may cause the flooring to fail. Lauzon is not responsible for any such damage.
